Because racecar. And because wagon. But especially BECAUSE VOLVO.
Oppo, I need your help. Before I keep lusting after this thing, what are some of the problems with the 05-07 models of the XC70 with AWD?
What’s the one to look for?
Can I find one under 10 grand?

Because it’s an Outback but better.
I don’t know if you can get one for under $10,000 until I know where you want to buy one.

I’m in Nashville, but at this point I’m just looking for something that will confirm my budget is possible.
Speaking of, what’s the best one to get for the 2nd gen models? T5?

I guess I need to search out Auto Trader. Not a lot of AWD wagons in middle Tennessee.

I had a problem with some sensor that kept throwing a cel, and there was some issue with the trans that would come and go. But reliable most of the time. Our family had two, Old Blue had the rear facing seats (too small for adults :( )

Yeah the only one I found on the List was a 2002

Nice. It’s just me and my dog, but I want something that can swallow a washing machine and that I can sleep in after driving through a field.
I’ve not needed to do any of these things, but the fact that I COULD is alluring.

This. This V70R. I think I may be doing a stupid thing by falling in long-distance love, but I want this badly enough to wire them a deposit on monday.

It looks good, but make sure you can get that deposit back if you don’t like it. That’s a lotta miles to buy sight unseen

Yeah. They have a carfax available and said that they could have it checked out by an independent mechanic to see what it needed.
And yeah, 168k is a lot, but what’s your opinion on the reliability of the V70R? Could it get to 200k?

I’ve never had one, so I couldn’t give you an informed answer. They are very different from the naturally aspirated FWD S80 I have.

Roger that.
I may pull a DeMuro and get this thing... Probably won’t drive it back to Tennessee. Oppo cred would be through the roof.

Heated seats, leather, 6cd changer, electronic adjust on drivers and passenger seats, auto-dimming rear mirror, heated side mirrors, driver and passenger auto climate control....
aaaand feline chauffeur mode.
As long as the trim is a higher level on the OB there isn’t really much of a gap between the ‘luxury’ of the two vehicles.

Calling those planks seats is very generous.

I'll concede that much.
